Matched

To Our Daughter,

We have found you. You have found us.  We have been brought together.

Our lives will never be the same, and for this we could not be more profoundly grateful.

It is killing us not to tell the world all about you.  We are so excited to share you, your spunky spirit, your beautiful face, with the whole world.  We want people to see who you are, see your precious expressions in the few pictures we have looked at over and over and over again.  We want them to know all about you, what you have been through and who you are becoming.  At the same time, we are still learning those things about you.

We know in time we will be able to share everything with everyone and we wait anxiously for that day.  In the meantime, we fill out paperwork and jump through hoops and will away the days on the calendar until we are able to travel and hold you in our arms. Until we kiss your sweet cheeks, and count your fingers and toes, and introduce you to your brothers, who already talk about you all the time.

We are told by the adoption agency that we should be able to go and get you within 11 months. It seems like forever.  We are so grateful for the wonderful and attentive care that you have been receiving at the place where you're living, and we will thank God forever that He protected you, kept you safe, and made sure that you had a place that could take care of your needs.  At the same time, we want you to know that we want to be with you NOW, holding you NOW, playing with you NOW, taking care of you NOW, loving you NOW.  Not in 11 months, but NOW.  Patience has never been your Mommy's best quality.

We want you to know that we love you already.  We love everything about you.  You are perfect for us.  We will love you through all that is to come and we will pray for you every day until we meet - and for the rest of your life. Your family - immediate, extended, church - loves you already, and we hope you can feel that love all the way in China.

So sit tight, baby.  We're coming to get you.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
